Overview:

The Ashram Charitable Trust (ACT) was established as a non-profit trust in 2002, with the mission to serve the society with its philanthropic programmes. ACTs breadth of work includes elderly care, support to poor and merit students, food for the deprived, clean drinking water projects, and other rural improvement projects.

ACT has established four Centers of Excellence to deliver its programmes effectively:
  • Jnanashram (Home for the Aged)
  • Samskara Kshetram (Rural Service Center for the Deprived)
  • Akshara Kshetram (Educational Funding and programmes for Students and Institutions)
  • Alambana Kshetram (Support for the Handicapped, Orphans, and Underprivileged)

The majority of programmes are run in Andhra Pradesh. A small network of well-wishers and beneficiaries have inspired us to keep momentum and build out our programmes successfully in the decade since the trust was established.

Mission:

Give the underprivileged an opportunity to live their lives in a dignified manner without the need to depend on others for basic necessities such as food, clothing, education, and a decent place to live. Access to such basic requirements is a basic human right, and this helps empower a person to make informed decisions to lead their lives with respect.
